Fencing SJCC Host Cities - Baltimore, Salt Lake City and Anaheim

US Fencing announced today that Baltimore will an SJCC host city this fencing year from February 28 to March 1, 2020.

The other 2 SJCC host cities are Salt Lake City (December 13 to 15, 2019) and Anaheim (March 13 to 15, 2020).

Fencers from both coasts will have opportunity to compete at an SJCC without need to travel cross-country.

The SJCC is a Junior and Cadet level regional competition where fencers have an opportunity to earn national points at the rate of 0.2 of points awarded at national level competitions for same placement. Points are awarded to the top 40% of the finishing field subject to a maximum of 64.

Similar to the SYC, only the best result in each event from SJCCs count towards national points.

There are no citizenship or classification requirements to compete

Age eligibility criteria apply, and follow the birth years set out in Table 2.5.1 of the Athlete Handbook

Pre-Junior Olympics Age Eligibility

Junior - born 2000 - 2006 (those born after 2006 must be on the Cadet national points list to be eligible to compete)

Cadet - born 2003 - 2006 (those born after 2006 must be on the Y14 national points list to be eligible to compete)

Post Junior Olympics Age Eligibility (immediately after close of regular registration deadline for Junior Olympics)

Junior - 2001 to 2007 (those born after 2007 must be on the Cadet national points list to be eligible to compete)

Cadet - 2004 to 2007 (those born after 2007 must be on the Y14 national points list to be eligible to compete)
